As a 7 refresher I went from: 8 9 1. A single gophermap as a blog 10 2. A single text file 11 3. Analyzing the differences 12 13 And now I'm here in part 4 to tell you that the 14 future of this phlog is multiple files. 15 16 Why? 17 18 1. Linkability -- I want to be able to share an 19 individual post! 20 2. Syndication -- individual URI's enable an RSS 21 feed 22 3. Bandwidth-friendly -- of course my phlog.txt 23 was NOWHERE near the JS bloat that is the 24 modern web (and probably never will be), but 25 small files are faster! 26 27 So here we are! 28 29 I briefly toyed with the thought of putting the 30 titles in the URI, for example: 31 32 gopher://alexkarle.com/phlog/008-choosing-a-phormat-pt-3.txt 33 34 But, I ended up deciding that the title doesn't 35 add too much value to end users. I kinda like the 36 XKCD-like (or RFC-like) style of just using a 37 number :) 38 39 gopher://alexkarle.com/phlog/008.txt
